10. Brook Lopez - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 1.6 - Points Per Game 20.4 - Blocks 1.5 - Minutes 35.2 - Rebounds 6.0 - Steals 0.6 - Games Played 84 - Age 23 - Team New Jersey Nets

The leader of the New Jersey Nets for the past few years, Lopez is one of the few bright spots on the team. Unfortunately, I would have usually put Lopez a bit higher on this list, but Lopez is injured until February, this gives Deron Williams the job to keeping the Nets in that number 8 playoff spot until Lopez gets back. In turn, you can not ignore Lopez 20+ points per game and how he has held the Nets together these last few years. Furthermore, if the Nets want to make a bid for Dwight Howard they will need a heath Lopez to be part of the package if they really hope to do so, this would still leave the Magic with a great center, albeit not Dwight Howard.

9. Andrea Bargnani - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 1.8 - Points Per Game 21.4 - Blocks 0.7 - Minutes 35.7 - Rebounds 5.2 - Steals 0.5 - Games Played 66 - Age 26 - Team Toronto Raptors
Known as the upcoming Dirk Nowitzki, Andrea Bargnani may have the talent to become the next Nowitzki, but he has a lot of work before anyone can really compare these 2 in the same level. A center/forward hybrid, Bargnani is an average center if you look at his height, 7 feet, and rebounds in the NBA. However, what really puts him apart is his 21.4 points a game which is near the top in the whole NBA. Having his best season in 2010-2011, Bargnani may have gained enough experience this year to make his first all-star team, and he is also a major sleeper center in the NBA.

8. Joakim Noah - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 2.3 - Points Per Game 10.9 - Blocks 1.6 - Minutes 32.9 - Rebounds 10.3 - Steals 1.0 - Games Played 64 - Age 26 - Team Chicago Bulls

The stats of Joakim Noah are quite misleading because of an injury he had on his hand, before the injury Noah was having his best year at center by far in 2010-2011, however, after he returned he was never 100%. Yet, Noah is needed for the Bulls to play a supporting role to Derrick Rose to help him shine even more. Furthermore, he is one the league leaders in rebounds, and is sure to do excellent this season if he can stay healthy.

7. Nene Hilario - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 2.0 - Points Per Game 14.5 - Blocks 1.0 - Minutes 30.7 - Rebounds 7.7 - Steals 1.1 - Games Played 80 - Age 26 - Team Denver Nuggets

Since Carmelo Anthony left, Nene Hilario has been tasked to hold more of the burden for the Denver Nuggets. As one of the leaders, of the Denver Nuggets Nene consistently puts up double digit points while still rebounding consistently. Furthermore, Nene has been pretty healthy the pass 3 seasons and looks to be a strong and consistent player for the 2011-2012 season.

6. Andrew Bynum - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 1.3 - Points Per Game 11.8 - Blocks 1.9 - Minutes 28.4 - Rebounds 9.4 - Steals 0.4 - Games Played 64 - Age 24 - Team Los Angeles Lakers
Andrew Bynum

If healthy, Andrew Bynum could be fighting for the number one spot on the top 10 best nba centers for 2011-2012. However, Andrew Bynum has been plagued with injuries and health issues throughout his career. However, at only 24 years old Bynum still has a lot of time left to grow and stay healthy during his career. By putting him on the number 6 spot, he should only hold up here if he can at least play 50 games 80%, but if he can play the whole season near or at 100% Bynum will undoubtably break the Top 5. Hopefully, Bynum can stay healthy in this short, but packed season.

5. Andrew Bogut - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 2.0 - Points Per Game 12.8 - Blocks 2.6 - Minutes 35.3 - Rebounds 11.1 - Steals 0.7 - Games Played 65 - Age 27 - Team Milwaukee Bucks

The first overall pick of the 2005 NBA Draft, Bogut had a breakout year in 2009-2010 and continued to put league leading numbers in 2010-2011 season. Bogut was one of the league leaders in blocking and rebounding. Furthermore, he is one of the starts of the rising Milwaukee Bucks, and as they try to make a run to the playoffs in this shortened season, Bogut must lead the Bucks to victory in order for them to reach the playoffs.

4. Tyson Chandler - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 0.4 - Points Per Game 9.6 - Blocks 1.0 - Minutes 28.8 - Rebounds 9.3 - Steals 0.5 - Games Played 95 - Age 29 - Team New York Knicks

A key piece to the Dallas Mavericks last year, Tyson Chandler is one of the best defensive players in the whole league. In fact some consider him the best defensive center in the whole league, other than Dwight Howard. Even though, his numbers are only above average, his leadership and skills are enough to put him in the top 5. Having Chandler on your team automatically makes you team stronger and definitely improves your defense. However, because of the shortened season and training camp, the chemistry with his new team the New York Knicks may hinder him early in the season.

3. Al Horford - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 3.4 - Points Per Game 14.8 - Blocks 1.0 - Minutes 35.6 - Rebounds 9.8 - Steals 0.7 - Games Played 89 - Age 25 - Team Atlanta Hawks
Consistently getting better and better throughout his 4 seasons in the NBA, Horford made his 2nd consecutive All-Star team in the 2010-2011 season. Helping lead the Atlanta Hawks to 4 straight playoff births, Al Horford is one of the core players for the Hawks. His ability to rebound 9-10 times a game and score almost 15 points makes him a complete package as a center. Furthermore, Horford looks to get even better in the 2011-2012 season as the Hawks continue to look more like a team that can make a deep run in the playoffs.

2. Al Jefferson - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 1.8 - Points Per Game 18.6 - Blocks 1.9 - Minutes 35.9 - Rebounds 9.7 - Steals 0.6 - Games Played 82 - Age 26 - Team Utah Jazz
Adjusting to the Utah Jazz extremely well, it is very puzzling to why Al Jefferson has not made an All-Star team. One of the best centers in the league in scoring, rebounding, and blocking Jefferson was a great acquisition for the Utah Jazz. In addition, Jefferson comes into 2011-2012 season comfortable with the Utah Jazz and itching to make the playoffs for the first time as a starter.

1. Dwight Howard - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 1.3 - Points Per Game 23.2 - Blocks 2.3 - Minutes 38.0 - Rebounds 14.2 - Steals 1.3 - Games Played 84 - Age 25 - Team Orlando Magic
Dwight Howard

One of the best players in all of the NBA, Dwight Howard is undoubtably the best center in the NBA. In fact, Howard is one of the best centers to ever play in the NBA. Earning his 4th All-Star appearance and his 3rd consecutive Defensive Player of the Year in the 2010-2011 season, Howard is the best defensive player in the whole leave and the best offensive center in the whole league. One of the league leaders in points per game, rebounds, and blocks Howard consistently leads the Orlando Magic to the playoffs almost single-handedly. With many speculating him to be traded this year, whoever gets Dwight Howard is going to have to give up a lot to get this diamond.
