With the prime of his years passed, Jason Kidd finally go what he wanted all along, an NBA Championship Ring. It has been 16 years since he got Rookie of the Year in 1995, and since then Jason Kidd has gotten 10 All-Star appearances, 5 All NBA First Team's, 4 NBA All-Defensive First Team, and of course his 2011 Championship with the Dallas Mavericks. Kidd is regarded as one of the smartest point guards to play the game, and even though he is aging, his experience showed a lot in the 2011 NBA Finals, which gives him a big enough push to earn the number 10 spot. Even though he is getting up there in age, experience is still priceless.
9. Tony Parker - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 6.5 - Points Per Game 17.7 - Minutes 32.7 - Rebounds 3.0 - Steals 1.2 - Games Played 84 - Age 29 - Team San Antonio Spurs

After the disastrous loss to the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs, one wonders how good the Spurs are going to be this year. Yet, we must not be quick to forget that they had the second best record in the NBA, and a point guard in the prime of his career named, Tony Parker. Part of the core of the Spurs, Parker is sure to lead his team into amazing another amazing run. With already 3 NBA Championships, 3 All-Star Appearances, and one of the best international players to come to the NBA, Parker is sure to rebound from that first round melt down.
8. Stephen Curry - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 5.8 - Points Per Game 18.6 - Minutes 33.6 - Rebounds 3.9 - Steals 1.5 - Games Played 74 - Age 23 - Team Golden State Warriors

Finishing the 2010-2011 season with the highest free throw percentage at 93.4% and averaging over 18 points a game, Stephen Curry is exactly what the Golden State Warriors need to get back into the playoffs. With a rising star like Curry on their side, he will be key to attracting better players to the Golden State Warrios. One of the more underrated point guards, Curry continues to blossom into the NBA scene, if he establishes a leadership role in the Golden State Warriors, good things are sure to come for Stephen.
7. Steve Nash - 2010-2011 - Stats Assists 11.4 - Points Per Game 14.7 - Minutes 33.3 - Rebounds 3.5 - Steals .6 - Games Played 75 - Age 37 - Team Phoenix Suns

One of the few 2 time MVP's in NBA History, Steve Nash is one of the best point guards of all time, yet just like Jason Kidd, Steve Nash is past the prime of his career. With 7 NBA All-Star's it is impassible to leave Nash out of this list. Even though, he is slowly declining as he ages, Nash still led the NBA in 2010-2011 in assists per game at 11.4, one of the most important stats for point guards. As Nash is still on the quest for that NBA Ring, it seems that Nash has 2 or 3 more years in him of decent basketball and excellent leadership.
6. John Wall - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 8.3 - Points Per Game 16.4 - Minutes 37.8 - Rebounds 4.6 - Steals 1.8 - Games Played 69 - Age 20 - Team Washington Wizards

The unfortunate runner up for Rookie of the Year, John Wall had all but clinched Rookie of the Year, if it wasn't for the likes of Blake Griffin. Yet, you can not ignore the massive talent John Wall has, and he is sure to explode in 2012. As he adjusts more into the NBA scene, Wall is key for the rebuilding of the Wizards. Just like Stephen Curry is for the Warriors, Wall's job this year is to play so well that he can attract players to join him with the Wizards.
5. Russell Westbrook - 2010-2011- StatsAssists 8.3 - Points Per Game 21.9 - Minutes 34.7 - Rebounds 4.6 - Steals 1.9 - Games Played 82 - Age 23 - Team Oklahoma City Thunder

Making his first All-Star appearance in 2010-2011 season, Westbrook became a storm in scoring for the Oklahoma City Thunder in his 3rd year in the NBA. A key thing Kevin Durant has been needing for the Thunder, is another All-Star caliber player in order to compete, and that is exactly why Westbrook is key for the Thunder. With Westbrook and Durant together, their synchronization on the court will be directly correlated to how long they will last in the playoffs.
4. Deron Williams - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 10.3 - Points Per Game 20.1 - Minutes 37.9 - Rebounds 4.0 - Steals 1.2 - Games Played 65 - Age 27 - Team New Jersey Nets
With Brook Lopez out until February, Deron Williams must carry the Nets until they get back to full health. With no apparent leader for the Nets, Deron Williams must step up to hold the Nets together. If the Nets really want Dwight Howard to join them, Williams will have to show why he should join them. Thankfully, this 2 time All-Star does have someone to pass it to in the form of rookie MarShon Brooks, who looks like the guy the Nets have been needing.
3. Rajon Rondo - Assists 11.2 - 2010-2011 Stats - Points Per Game 10.6 - Minutes 37.2 - Rebounds 4.4 - Steals 2.2 - Games Played 68 - Age 25 - Team Boston Celtics

The youth of the Celtics, Rondo was one of the league leaders in assists last year. As of now Rondo looks like the key to the Celtics future. As Garnet, Allen, and Pierce age, it is up to Rondo to carry the Celtics tradition. While he only averaged 10.6 points last year, I am almost positive that it will dramatically increase in the 2011-2012 season because of the aging Celtics having to rely on Rondo more. If the Celtics believe they have one or two more good seasons left with their current team, Rondo has to step up and lead them to the playoffs, which is something I am really confident about.
2. Chris Paul - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 9.8 - Points Per Game 15.8 - Minutes 36.0 - Rebounds 4.1 - Steals 2.4 - Games Played 82 - Age 26 - Team Los Angeles Clippers

With Chris Paul added to the Los Angeles Clippers, for once, it is questionable to who is the best team in Los Angeles right now. The case of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Chauncey Billups, Mo Williams, and the rest of the Clippers being better than the Lakers with Kobe, Gasol, and Metta World Peace is truly valid. Paul is a 4 time all-star and is sure to spark the team into a playoff birth in the upcoming future. Finally, with some star players to pass to, Paul might break out even more with great players surrounding him.
1. Derrick Rose - 2010-2011 Stats - Assists 7.7 - Points Per Game 25.0 - Minutes 37.4 - Rebounds 4.3 - Steals 1.0 - Games Played 81 - Age 23 - Team Chicago Bulls

As the Bulls' fans start chatting about Derrick Rose being the next Michael Jordan for them, Derrick Rose continues to make a case to why they speak of him so highly by winning the 2011 NBA MVP. Now, whether he will become the next Michael Jordan? Only time will tell. Yet, at only 22 years old Rose hasn't even reached the prime of his career, and led all point guards in point per game and was one the leagues leaders to. Furthermore, he led the Bulls to an Eastern Conference Final birth, and is prime to have another amazing season for 2011-2012. The Derrick Rose era for the Chicago Bulls, and it is almost indisputable to why he is number one on the list of the Top 10 Best NBA Point Guards for the 2011-2012 season.
